Kenya
(Garsen) – April
Rev Carol Burstow and I travelled in Eastern Kenya - very hot,
very dusty and very dry. Pastor Gideon has been working in the Tana area for
18 years (Graduate of NPBC). Many precious pastors came together for 3 days
“intensive” teaching of the Word particularly
regarding Biblical ‘use of money’ and ‘how God meets our needs’.
From 8.30am-5pm they sat and soaked up the Word. Now they know how to
prosper. A black snake was caught as it was about to go into our bedroom and
was crushed! Praise God.
India–June
My daughter Faith and I visited a young man whom we had trained
in Bible College in Nigeria. After one year working amongst the fishermen of
East Coast (all affected by the Tsunami) he had planted 5 churches in a
completely Hindu area. Every convert (we heard the story first-hand) had
experienced a MIRACLE: either a dramatic healing or demons cast out. In one
village he had raised a DEAD woman to life. She had truly been dead as they
had cut her arm to make sure!! We went out with fisher-folk and had
“church” on the boat in the Bay of Bengal. Many were filled with the
Holy Spirit and saved.
Then on to
the Andaman Islands. What joy to see 28 children, orphaned by the
Tsunami, housed and well cared
for in an orphanage set up by the charity shops run by our church. After
only a month joy was at last returning to their lives. Pastor Simon
and his wife are house parents (Brahmin-priest family had beaten and persecuted Simon after his conversion to Christ) – please pray
for them. Pastor Johann did all
the paperwork for the orphanage
very thoroughly. We saw all the children filled by the Holy Spirit and
prayed for healing for their souls in their tragic loss. On a half-day
stop-over in Calcutta we were able to see the Buntain work: how
incredible – in the 9 North-Eastern states of India. What a fantastic
work. I praise God that
today is not the day of the missionary, but the day of the nationals to work in their own country. Please pray more will reach their
own people like Yesupadum.
